Noel Gonsalvez has been attempting to get on the Tanglewood Forest neighborhood HOA board for the last 3 years.
In plain terms; Noel Gonsalvez is obsessed with getting on the Tanglewood Forest Board and there is no boundary he won't cross to get there.
On December 31, 2023 (New Year's Eve), Noel followed me and my son to Bethany Lutheran Church (where Noel is not a member and has never attended).
Without my knowledge or consent, Noel took several pictures and videos of me & my son in our seats and at communion, then posted them to several Facebook groups while church was in progress.
Noel then proceeded to harass church members in the lobby, trying to distribute slanderous pamphlets he had made. After realizing that none of the church members were receptive to his clearly inappropriate behavior, Noel then began defacing the front entrance of my church by taping the pamphlets all over the doors and windows.
Austin Police responded and escorted Noel off of the church property. 30 minutes later, Noel Gonsalvez returned to my church, dressed in a completely different set of clothes and attempted to slip past the Austin Police Officer providing security. He was again escorted off church property.
In addition to the December 31, 2023 incident, I have had several other instances in which Noel has followed me to various appointments in downtown Austin, has sent pizzas to my house for delivery, and sent unsolicited Mormon Missionaries to visit me at my unpublished home address in Dripping Springs.
I do not know Mr. Gonsalvez, nor have I ever had a conversation with him, and I do not understand his interest in me or my child. This unhinged behavior is scary and concerning to me as a widowed single mom.
After speaking to multiple others in Tanglewood Forest who have had similar experiences with Noel, I think he is a danger to the community, is not fit to be a Public Official, and does not belong anywhere near the governing board of Tanglewood Forest Limited District.

I ran against Noel Gonsalvez in the November 2022 Tanglewood Forest Board election. I was elected by a wide margin, while Noel lost and came in 4th place.
At my first meeting after being sworn in, Noel made a long impassioned speech about how unfair it was that he lost, that I had cheated to win, and that he belonged on the Board and I didn't. He finished with the statement "You better buckle up, because it's going to be a wild ride for the next 2 years".
I dismissed this as an idle threat and it was just his way of venting frustration...Nothing prepared me for what was about to happen to my life. Noel began calling my employer to try and get me fired, he began calling my daughter's school attempting to gain access to her educational records and our home address. He then started showing up to the courthouse in Cedar Park (which is 31 miles away from his home in Tanglewood) just to watch me in court appearances for a case which does not involve him or Tanglewood Forest in any way.
Noel then started publishing my home address to various sites on the internet, prompting me to move to 3 different addresses in Tanglewood Forest just to get away from him. Every time I would move, he would somehow find the address, begin passing by the house at odd times. After several address changes, I realized that Noel was never going to stop his odd obsession with me and my daughter. As much as I loved the neighborhood and the friends I had made, I decided the only way to keep myself safe from Noel was to move out of Tanglewood Forest and into a new neighborhood about 15 miles away.
All that being said, I firmly believe that Noel does not possess the morals, judgement, maturity, or respect for others that being a Public Official demands. I hope the voters of Tanglewood Forest protect themselves by rejecting Noel a second time in the 2024 election.

Sadly, our negative experiences with Noel Gonsalvez are similar to everyone else we've talked to in Tanglewood Forest.
My daughter Leia and I were proud campaign volunteers for 2 candidates in the 2022 Tanglewood Forest board elections. My daughter had just turned 18 and was excited to vote for the first time and to be a part of the "democratic process".
On the first day of early voting, we were handing out candidate information cards and bottles of water to voters waiting in line. We were doing our best to only communicate the positive aspects of our candidates, while not smearing or even mentioning the opposing candidates. We felt this was the most respectful way to help run a campaign for what is basically nothing more than an HOA director election.
Every time we approached a voter and talked to them, Noel would aggressively insert himself into our personal space and would start insulting the candidates we were volunteering for. At one point, he even began yelling at my daughter in front of a group of voters, accusing us of "trying to convince people not to vote for him". It was clear that Noel had very little interest in helping his community, and instead seemed to only want to harass, intimidate and bully others from voting for anyone other than him.
After the election (which Noel thankfully lost), we would sometimes cross paths with him at random places in the community. Whether my family and I saw him at Maudie's restaurant, the grocery store or at movie nights in the park sponsored & catered by Tanglewood Director Castille, Noel Gonsalvez' reaction was the same: he would stare and scowl at us in some weird but clear attempt to make us feel unwelcome.
I do not understand Noel's odd obsession with getting on the Tanglewood Forest board, nor do I understand him thinking it's ok to treat his neighbors with such negativity and disrespect. Noel Gonsalvez does not belong in any position of leadership.
Tanglewood Forest deserves better, which is why we are voting for Steven Gerlofs, Laura Shotwell and Cynthia Luna. They will bring the sanity and positivity which has been missing from our Board.

I envy everyone who has never met Noel Gonsalvez. They truly are fortunate.
I had the misfortune of meeting Noel in October of 2022, during early voting in the General Election, where the Tanglewood Forest election was also on the ballot. When I arrived at the Westoak Woods church to vote, I had already decided which candidates I supported and was excited to vote for 2 neighbors who I had gotten to know during several neighborhood cleanup events.
As I stood in line with my then 8 year old son, a creepy looking man approached us and started asking us questions about who we were voting for. Initially I thought he was a homeless person because of how dirty and disheveled he looked. I soon came to realize that this man was one of the candidates on the Tanglewood ballot. After much rambling, it was clear that Noel had no actual ideas or goals which would benefit our neighborhood; he was more interested in spreading rumors about his opponents.
The encounter left such a bad taste in my mouth, that after voting I actually went outside and joined the other campaign volunteers in talking to voters and distributing literature. An hour later as we were leaving, Noel followed me and my son to our car in the parking lot. The whole time we walked, he was close behind, loudly mumbling insults about me and my son.
As if that weren't enough, Noel has repeatedly harassed and insulted me online. He would talk trash about me on NextDoor and Facebook groups, even publishing my address several times. My Ring camera system would also capture Noel's car driving slowly by my house, sometimes taking pictures with his phone.
I don't know what this man's problem is, but he gives off a very dark, angry energy. He makes me feel uneasy, and he is the reason I moved to a different neighborhood and no longer live in Tanglewood Forest.
Get rid of the Tanglewood Trash, vote no to Noel Gonsalvez!
